Textile Educational Courses - Disc1

False Twist Texturing

This course gives the background and theory of the manufacture of false twist textured yarns. It contains a detailed account of the theory of false twist together with descriptions of the three principal machine types:

  • Friction twist
  • Belt texturing
  • Pin Texturing

The course is designed to be of practical assistance to Managers, Supervisors and Students. In addition to the description of the three machine types there are sections on:

  • Specification development
  • Production calculations
  • Production planning
  • Testing and Fault finding
Included are three video clips showing false twist texturing. They can be viewed when paging through the course or directly from the menu.

This course is a convenient way of accessing information. The intention was to write the material in such a way that the reader could apply the knowledge immediately on the shop floor rather than it being purely academic in nature. In addition to theoretical description of the process and machinery available, this training material includes production calculations, touches on production planning and deals with utilities (electrical and compressed air) and specification development.

The course content has 42 topics ranging from theoretical principles through machine design to calculations and specification development and testing.
